We’re seeing an increase in fraudulent ads on social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram pretending to be EQ Bank. These ads link to fake websites designed to steal your login or personal information.
Stay safe:
- Only log in via the EQ Bank app or secure.eqbank.ca if using a browser.
- Watch for fake advertiser names like “Equitable Team” or “EQ Bank Marketing Team”.
- Be wary of ads offering unusually high interest rates. If in doubt, verify against the interest rates page.
- Never enter credentials or one-time passwords after following social media links.
If you think you might have interacted with a suspicious ad:
- Call us immediately at 1-844-437-2265 (1-844-4EQ-BANK)—we’ll help secure your account
- Change your EQ Bank and email passwords
